Keiki (Child Classes)

Keiki Beginners: This class is designed for keiki who have no hula experience. In this class they will be introduced to the basics of hula in both kahiko and ‘auana styles. Appropriate starting age is determined on a case-by-case basis, but we have had the best success with students 4 years old and over.

NOTE: We currently have no Keiki Beginner students.

Keiki/Family Intermediate: This class is for those keiki and interested moms who have a solid foundation in hula basics, at least one year of hula, and teacher approval.

Adult Classes:

Adult Beginners: We start a new Adult Beginner class session quarterly. Our next session begins Saturday, February 1 and Wednesday, February 5. Students study hula kahiko in the first quarter, and hula ‘auana in their second quarter. After 6 months of Adult Beginner classes, most students will be ready to join the Adult Intermediate class.

Classes are held twice a week on Saturdays and Wednesdays. Students may attend either or both class sessions each week. Students requesting to join more than two weeks into the quarterly session will be asked to wait until the next session begins.

Adult Intermediate: This class is for adults who have completed our Adult Beginner sessions and have been approved by the teachers to advance OR those who have a solid foundation in hula basics, at least 1 year of hula experience, and teacher approval. Students in this class will dance both hula kahiko and hula ‘auana.

Adult Experienced: Our most physically demanding and fastest paced adult class, this class is open to dancers by teacher invitation only.

Class Fees:

Classes are $50.00 per month for individuals, $70.00 per month for families. This fee allows students to take as many classes as they want during the month. Class fees are due the first class of each month and may be paid by cash, check or Paypal to Hula Maryland.

Class Location:

All classes are held at our Crofton studio. The address is 2135 Espey Court, Suite 3, Crofton, MD 21114. If you have questions, please contact us at
